A little about me:

As a young kid I used to draw pictures of houses we would drive by and then try to imagine how the house was laid out based on what the front looked like.  Someone once told me that because my parents were often away from home and I would be home alone, I was trying to make a home.  I think I also wanted to create order by figuring out how things can be organized (arranged).

I also remember as a kid “playing waiter” when my parents threw a party at our house.  My early summer jobs were as a busboy and I made sandwiches in a deli.  It felt good that I could help guests and customers be satisfied.

I knew I wanted to be an architect probably before high school so I took drafting classes and the math and science courses that would help me get ready for college. While I was earning my architectural degree, besides the typical design and structural and materials courses, my third year design studio intorduced me to heliodons, wind tunnels, and water tables to study sun, wind and water and how buildings could respond to their effects.  This was during the time the U.S. was reawakening to the environment and incorporating “natural” features into buildings.

So this is who I am: I got my 5 year architectural degree and have some letters after my name as a registered architect and LEED AP.  But who I really am is someone who wants to provide responsive service, loves to figure out how to best solve multi-piece puzzles while creating places where everyone can feel comfortable, like it’s home, and places that are responsive to, and in context with, the environment.
